Gemma is a parent carer of 2 disabled young people, a daughter carer and a disabled person.
Both of her two children have severe speech and language problems and dyspraxia. Her son has a learning disability and her daughter has asthma.
She is heavily involved in disability and carer organisations in the Surrey area. She has been recently been elected to be the Chair of RABDA (Reigate and Banstead Disability Action) - which is a a user led organistaton which will be running the new Redhill Hub. The Hub will be a drop-in first stop shop for information, advice, advocacy and other services, which will be run by disabled people for disabled people and carers.
Gemma wants to see politicians realise that disability is not a lifestyle choice and neither is caring.
