The Conservatives opposed the introduction of disability discrimination legislation in the 1990's.
Labour did little and my hope is that our Party will drive forward comprehensive legislation.
But discriminators - from my experience are usually the able-bodied majority.
Social oppression is rife and as long as discrimination is treated as a nuisance - not as an act of oppression it will
persist.
I desire LDDA to challenge this Coalition to eradicate disablism.
I cannot walk, probably from catching Polio in childhood.
LDDA
I joined LDDA because there is still too much discrimination against
disabled people and I hoped that LDDA would be a flagship to challenge
the oppression that exists -and causes disadvantage for disabled
members of Society.
