£96,000 Learning Rooms

20 Nov 2006

People with learning disabilities are benefiting from some extra space at a day care centre in Alfreton.

Derbyshire County Council's Parkwood Centre has traditionally been used to support adults with learning disabilities.

Two new rooms now give them and the wider community the chance to benefit. The £96,000 learning and development rooms are used for training, conferences and meetings.

The rooms were paid for by the council and public service workers' union Unison and were officially opened by Walter Burrows, chairman of the council.
