Disabled People Get treated like packages on trains

24 Apr 2014
 Hi All

An excellent report. For years now I have been reporting on this issue. I don't
often think that on disabled issues our American cousins can teach us much but
on this issue they can. They seem to be able to assist disabled people onto
buses, and secure them into the wheelchair bay. On trains on the west coast
around Seattle they have a large compartment for the use of disabled people and
their carers which is entered by a power hoist from track level. The only
problem you have with disabled public transport is with cabs, and wheelchair
accessible cabs are even becoming more available. If they can do it why cant
we?
