Man With Down Syndrome Opens Cool Snow Cone Shack and Becomes Youngest Business Owner In His Town
Blake Pyron was born with Down Syndrome. Like all other mothers, who give birth to children with Down Syndrome, Blake's mother was told that her son wouldn't be able to do several things.
Blake went against all odds and other people's expectations and on May 7 he will open his very own snow cone shack in Sanger, Texas. And he is still 20 years old.
He actually becomes the youngest business owner in his own hometown and the only one with Down Syndrome.
His dream to open a business of his own started shortly after his high school graduation. Blake worked at a barbeque restaurant for a while and loved every minute of it, but the place was shut down a month after the end of his senior year.

His mom explained that Blake wanted to find a job, but the opportunities in their hometown were limited. So their family got together and thought of Blake's choices. He was interested in snow cones and so it was decided.
Blake's brother helped him come up with creative flavors, like "Hulk" and "Shark Attack", and they also hired a 15-year-old family friend as an employee. Blake will be the customer service man since this is his strength.
Blake starts a new life today and got to have such a choice simply because his family didn't pay attention to naysayers.
"You don't know us. You don't know our child, so don't label him. We haven't, and he turned out great," his mother said.
The decision to open the shack just before mother's day is not accidental. Blake wanted to give moms of the community the chance to celebrate with him. His mother hopes that her family's story would inspire more people with children with special needs to stop listening to societies and never put limits on their child.
