The Alzheimer's Society drop-in cafe runs every alternate Wednesday

Yesterday morning (Wednesday 27th March 2013) Cheadle MP Mark Hunter joined other local residents at an Alzheimer's Society "drop-in cafe" event held at The Governor's House Pub, Ravenoak Road in Cheadle Hulme.

Mr Hunter attended after being invited by the national Alzheimer's Society campaign team who work with parliamentarians to promote the interests of people with Alzheimer's.

The event is held on alternate Wednesdays and organised by the help of Cheadle Rotary Club. It has been setup to help provide a friendly and supportive environment for people with dementia and their carers. A representative from the Alzheimer's Society also attends to help address any concerns that anybody may have over a cup of tea.

Commenting, Mark said:

"I was delighted to join with other local residents to help support this important regular event.

"The Alzheimer's Society do an excellent job in Westminster raising awareness of dementia issues and providing specialist advice to make sure the Government is well aware of the needs of people suffering from Alzheimer's are facing.
