New learning disabilities project

15 Mar 2007

A project for people with learning disabilities has been launched in the north of Scotland.

Health, Environment, Arts, Activities, Resources and Training (HEAART) was set up following a meeting in the Wellington Centre in Wick, Caithness.

The group, which will hold its first annual general meeting on Friday, hope to take over the running of the day care centre.

HEAART is to present its plans to Highland Council on 26 March.

One of the proposals is for arts projects run by people with learning disabilities.
