Prescription charge will hit those with long term conditions hardest

The Government today announced that prescription charges are to rise by 20p on 1st April. Commenting, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb MP said:
"This rise will hit those people with long term conditions hardest.
"It highlights the arbitrary nature of prescription charge exemption where some people are paying and some people aren't because of its ad-hoc administration.
"The system is long overdue for a thorough review.
