Store warns over parking spaces

Supermarket Asda is to penalise motorists without a blue badge who park in spaces for disabled drivers.

Drivers who park in the bays without a badge may be fined £60, as could people wrongly using parent and child spaces at the Gloucester store.

Special parking wardens will be introduced to monitor shoppers and ensure they park correctly.

The move follows a trial on Merseyside which showed a 60% increase in the number of free priority parking spaces.
