Woman's donated wheelchair stolen

A disabled woman from Hereford says she has lost her independence after the theft of her electric wheelchair. Julie Bishop's £3,000 chair was taken from outside her flat in the Warndon area of the city.

"I rely on the wheelchair for getting out and stuff because I can't walk very far because of the stick," she said.

The chair had been donated to Ms Bishop by a charity and she will remain without one unless another is re-supplied or the stolen one returned. "I have been thinking: Why has this happened to me? It just shows how dishonest some people are," she said.
