One crucial clause is missing from this PIP reform, and its absence will dismay disabled people

The summer of 1998 was when my own personal journey with disability began; working as a camp counselor and lifeguard in the USA the summer after my final year exams I had a severe dislocation to my shoulder and needed surgery to repair it before flying home. Over the following years my world altered from that of a fit young law graduate with the world at my feet to one of unexplained pain and increasing disability.

Jo Swinson MP writes…Equality is about more than ticking boxes

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) would never have become a valued and respected national institution if it was allowed to continue on the path it was on. Labour's tired old way of working was turning equalities into a burden. When people heard the word equality they also heard bureaucracy and red-tape. Instead of being about fairness it was more about frustration.

DLA/PIP change programme timetable extended

Reassessments for people who receive disability living allowance (DLA) to move onto the new personal independence payment (PIP) will now be made later than originally planned, the Government has said.
