Readers, I've heard lots of terrible stories of the cuts 'getting personal' over the last few years.This one is one of the worst. I am a disabled young adult and if I was in this situation, I would have exactly the same feelings that Mrs Kennedy has.
The Hardest Hit, a coalition of over 90 disabled people's organisations and disability charities, including the MS Society, RNIB and Mencap, has condemned the Government's decision to press ahead with a £2 billion cut to vital support provided by DLA/PIP. Today's statement by the Government on the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) regulations is "crushingly bad news".
Some of the most severely disabled people in Britain will be more than £150 a year worse off because of George Osborne's benefit changes, despite the Chancellor's pledge to "support the vulnerable", it was claimed last night.
