Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary Norman Lamb questioned the health secretary on the government's ability to cope with a pandemic flu outbreak and what co-ordinating work the government was doing with other European countries to ensure that they get their plans in place effectively.

Disabled bullying 'overlooked'

The bullying of children with disabilities is not being taken seriously enough, says learning disability charity, Mencap. Children with learning or physical disabilities faced repeated taunts and violence in school, parks and on transport, says the report. Children's Commissioner Sir Al Aynsley-Green, says people have been "slow to recognise" the problem. A government spokesman said that all school bullying was "unacceptable".

Peer calls for ADHD care review

A peer and neuroscientist will call on ministers to examine how attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is diagnosed and treated in the UK. Independent peer Baroness Susan Greenfield will raise the issue in the House of Lords on Wednesday.

Terror police 'shot' man in coma

A man who had gone into a diabetic coma on a bus in Leeds was shot twice with a Taser gun by police who feared he may have been a security threat. Nicholas Gaubert has described how the incident happened in July 2005, just a week before the fatal shooting of Brazilian man Jean Charles de Menezes.
